Below description from an earlier post about about Yarmouth Metal’s Summer Metalfest 2011, which took place on July 23rd 2011, at the Yarmouth Golf Club.
July 23rd, at the Yarmouth Golf Club we will be putting on the 2nd Public Yarmouth Metal show, and our 3rd ever show! We have managed to get the wheels of Yarmouth Metal running full speed ahead and have attracted some big names to play the show.
Misguided Aggression will headline the show! Misguided Aggression are a great band out of Ontario who are signed to Year of the Sun Records. I can’t wait to hear these guys live and you will all enjoy them!
Now, to round up the rest of the lineup, not that is just “the rest of the lineup” because its not! It’s a killer reminder of Nova Scotia talent! Orchids Curse, if you haven’t heard of them, you must live under a rock, because they are the real deal! Probably the most professional and tight sounding band in all of Nova Scotia for metal, Orchid’s Curse are ready to perform in Yarmouth again, as they have not played here since NS Music Week in 2010. While we couldn’t promise them there would not be a flood like last time, its safe to say there will be a lot less rain as the last time they were here.
Another band who’s been in Yarmouth on multiple occasions will make there return here also. Last Call Chernobyl helped to get there career noticed in 2009 in Yarmouth by winning the NS Music Week Vans Warped Tour Battle of the Bands, this allowed them to play select dates on the 2010 Warped Tour and then they returned to Yarmouth at Music Week 2010 to perform on the loud stage. They are incredible live and on recording and will not disappoint.
Speaking of Warped Tour, we are lucky enough to get this years winners of the Warped Tour contest, and current buzz generators WE’RE DOOMED! I personally am quite happy to get these guys as I knew I wanted them here the second I heard Earth Eater back in late December/Early January, and Yarmouth Metal did not disappoint. They have former guitarist of the Black Moor, Nick Jones in there band and he brings some crazy guitar skills with him. A good mix of alternative, metal, progressive and just plain awesome riffs, WERE DOOMED will be a great addition!
Rounding out the lineup is Yarmouth native’s TIC. A group of high schoolers who are looking to show everyone what they have to offer and we are glad to give them a stage to show that and support our local music scene in the process!
Also added to the lineup was PEI Metal band In The Ground who brought a tight set and a lot of energy to the Yarmouth crowd. See photos from the show below:
